The purpose of this event is to support our Troops, thank our Vets, honor our Fallen. Therefore: Fees are deferred for Gold Star Families (families of the Fallen), Veterans, Servicemen and women, and those in the delayed entry programs of the Armed Forces. Online registration does not allow for fee deferral.
* ATTENTION VETERANS AND SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN, DELAYED ENTRY AND GOLD STAR FAMILIES!
In honor of your service to the country, you may register at no charge for this event. You may do so by choosing any of the following methods:
1. PREFERRED METHOD: Register online (click on the link above) and select “4 mile: Military” or “2 mile: Military”. Unless you make a donation, there will be no charge and it will not ask for a credit card.
2. ALTERNATE METHOD: Register by mail using the offline (mail in) form above. You can simply send in your entry form without a check.
Alternative course availability: There have been inquiries about the availability of a course suitable for those with disabilities or who may have difficulties with hills. There is a 1 mile course available on Birch Dr. It is a boulavard that is flat, smoothly paved and would accomodate wheelchairs very well. This is the same route that the runners and walkers start out with but you could return back toward the park before starting "the hills". You may sign up for the 2 mile walk event and complete the course on Birch Dr. with one or two laps as you prefer. (Although we have had a highly motivated veteran complete the entire 4 mile course in his wheelchair, hills and all. OORAH! )
